37 Women’s Kafos In NBR Withdraw Honorary Father Title From Bensouda

In what could be described as a seismic political development in the North Bank Region (NBR), thirty-seven UDP grassroots groups in the region, which adopted KM mayor Talib Ahmed  Bensouda as honorary father, have announced the withdrawal of the title from the mayor.

The representatives and leaders of the various groups announced their decision to turn their back to the KMC mayor during a regional meeting in the NBR’s administrative capital, Kerewan, on Saturday.

Speaking at the meeting, the leaders of the groups said their decision stemmed from the KM mayor’s resignation from his position as the oorganising secretary of the United Democratic Party (UDP).

The speakers highlighted that Mr. Bensouda’s resignation has rendered him incapable of performing his duties and therefore, unworthy of their endorsement.

Nineteen groups in Lower Niumi, four groups in Upper Niumi, three groups in Jorkadu, three in Lower Baddibu, three in Upper Baddibu and five in Sabach Sanjal have all declared their decision to ditch Mr. Bensouda.

In a similar development, three grassroots groups in NBR, which adopted Bensouda’s political allies as honorary father and mother, have also declared their decision to reclaim the titles.

The Koloban Kaffo in Farafenni, which adopted Karafa Sonko as honorary father, has on Saturday declared their decision to dump the former UDP campaign manager. Kassa Manding Mory has also had her honorary mother title withdrawn by the Alandinkui Kaffo in Farafenni while the Maurtaine Fondinke Kafo also announced its move to claim back the honorary father title it bestowed on Kemo Bojang.
