Authorities in the Gambia are trying to trace 14 people who walked out of a local hotel where they were being quarantined.
The passengers arrived in the country Wednesday from the United Kingdom on a Gambia flight and were immediately put on quarantine at the Golden Beach Hotel.
Momodou Njai, the director of health promotion and education, told the independent newspaper, The Standard, that the escaped passengers are part of 29 who arrived on the flight and the remaining 15 are still in isolation until two weeks to see if they are infected.
Mr Njai said everything is being done to locate and return them to the hotel.
He added: “The directive is to isolate anyone coming from hotspot countries for two weeks and that’s what we are doing. “
