Oh my fellow compatriots “Fear Allah”….Speak the truth or keep quiet… Everything can be postponed except death and the Day of Judgment….
If you like care about what men and women would say at your burial, what epitaph they would put up for you. But if you really know you would care more about what the Angels will tell Allah when you stand before Him at the Throne…. Allah knows what is in our hearts, what actions we take or activities we indulge in when no human is seeing us….. And the Angels, am told, never miss a single good or bad deed we take or do….
So what should really matter to you: what men and women say about you or what the Angels will report about you when they unroll your Scroll? What should you put a highest premium on: your REPUTATION or CHARACTER?
One who craves nothing but the pleasures of men and women, how exalted he or she will be in their estimation when he or she speaks or writes, and cares less about the veracity of that statement, is but a seeker after Reputation, a craver of recognition. It is also symptomatic of one with complete low self esteem and worth…
But if one who fears Allah and the Last Day, only the truth with matter, not the pleasures of mortals or what estimation he or she has in their eyes. Nothing but the truth will be said even if that truth is against him or a loved one. He or she will always remember that Allah knows his or her dealings, what is kept in the heart and the dark, what the ultimate intention is. He or she would ensure credibility and congruence: the perfect matching of words and deeds, all the time. That person is a hypocrite in Islam who tells people to take the right path while he or she dines with sorcerers or conspires with others to stab in the back a fellow human being or in the dark commits all types of sins.
Am told the signs of a hypocrite are three: when he or she speaks, it is always a lie; when he or she promises, it is never fulfilled; when he is trusted, it is always betrayed… Liar, promise breaker and betrayer… See…. Truth and Trust are cardinal; they give credibility and credence…. You lose them, you lose your stand amongst mortals and get the wrath of God…
Fear Allah…. Speak the truth or keep quiet….
