Namibia’s Brave Warriors coach, Tom Saint has described the 2012 Group 6 draw which pitted them against Gambia among
others as an easy one for the Southern African Country. But he was quick to add that Gambia is an unknown quantity to the Warriors and therefore a spot of bother for his team.
Speaking to that country’s leading newspaper, the Economist, coach,Tom Saintfiet, said the draw was very interesting and will not be difficult for Namibia as the country fights for the sole ticket for the finals in 2012. According to Saintefiet, with the draw Namibia had avoided the big power-football nations of the continent.
“It is an interesting draw for Namibia and everyone in this group has a chance to make it to the finals. We have to believe in ourselves and work very hard for us to go through, but this group is not one of the more difficult qualifying groups. “Seasoned campaigners Burkina Faso, are a team that boasts of intimidating professional players who ply their trade in Germany and they have a Portuguese coach. Gambia are unknown to Namibia and they can prove a huge challenge to us. They have a Belgian coach and most of their professional players are in Holland, Norway, Sweden and Germany.
“Mauritania is the weakest team but we are not going to underestimate them because, in football, there are no more small teams. “If we blend together, work as a team, play flowing football, win all our home matches and get draw results in away matches, then we have the chance to qualify for the 2012 finals,” he said. If Namibia wins group six, it will be the third time for the Brave Warriors. Source: Gamsports.com
