(JollofNews) – President Yahya Jammeh of the Gambia has announced that his government will build a bridge over the Sandugu Bolong to link Wuli and Basse.
Mr Jammeh who is on a tour of the country aimed at giving him an opportunity to meet with the electorates, know their concerns and work towards addressing them, said construction work for the bridge would be completed before the end of May 2017.
He added that apart from the bridge, his government would also improve the road condition from the bridge to the interior.
Mr Jammeh also announced that construction work on the Chamen Nyanija Bridge and a network of roads in the Central River Region would commence soon.
He said as part of the road works, the main road linking the village and the North Bank highway will be tar-surfaced by 2017 and the other road linking the village to the river would be up-graded before end of 2018 for greater accessibility and increased volume of traffic.
