Barrow Bids Farewell To ECOMIG, Announces Improved Market Road For Banjul

President Adama Barrow held a farewell ceremony at the State House for eighty ECOMIG officers, acknowledging their contributions to maintaining peace and democracy in The Gambia.

He expressed deep gratitude to Senegal and ECOWAS for their unwavering support and emphasized that, despite the end of the ECOMIG mission, the close ties between The Gambia and Senegal would endure.

In another engagement, President Barrow visited the Banjul Market area to inspect the condition of a 300-meter road.

Since the Banjul roads, drainage, and sewage project began in 2019, this visit highlighted the need for further improvements.

President Barrow acknowledged the negative impact of the road’s poor condition on businesses, tourism, and public health.

Vendors voiced concerns over waste management and security, prompting the President to prioritize addressing these issues.

He instructed the contractor, Hadim Gai, to begin upgrading the road, reinforcing his administration’s focus on improving infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life in Banjul.
