Police Investigate Austrian Man Over Alleged Investment Fraud

The cyber crime unit of the Gambia’s police force on Wednesday invited at the police HQ in Banjul an Austrian national Manuel Stofleth Mitterer on suspicion of attempting to deprive hotelier Solomon Tamba and his business partner Marcel Lambertus Teunis van Andel of their investments.

However, suspicions have been raised about the “behind-the-scenes efforts by Manuel’s lawyer Sheriff Tambedou and commissioner of the prosecution unit of the Gambia Police Force (GPF) to trivialize the case, despite it bordering on suspected cyber crime and an elaborate fraud plan.

Sources informed JollofNews that the Austrian national Manuel Mitterier was invited to the headquarters of The Gambia’s Police Force in the capital, Banjul after a criminal complaint was lodged against him for attempting to swindle his business partners Ebrima Solomon Tamba and Lambertus Teunis van Andel of millions of dalasi.

Manuel was quoted as saying that he invested some of the millions in bitcoins.

L-R: Manuel, Tamba, Tambedou, Sanneh & Marcel.

Credible sources informed JollofNews that Mr. Tamba was also seen at the police HQ on Wednesday and Thursday as the police reportedly opened criminal investigation against Manuel.
