(JollofNews) – The much talked about meeting between President Yahya Jammeh of the Gambia and opposition candidates vying to flush him out of power in next month’s presidential elections has been deffered
The meeting which was due to be held on Tuesday evenening at the luxurious Kairaba Beach Hotel was postponed at the eleventh hour. No reasons were given.
As reported earlier by your JollofNews, the meeting was organised by the Independent Electoral Commission of the Gambia (IEC) to forster dialogue and understanding amongst the various political leaders ahead of next month’s election.
During the meeting, political leaders were expected to sign a pledge to conduct a violent free campaign and to respect the constitution and other laws of the country.
