Talib Is The One To Be Worried About UDP’s Huge Crowds — NPP Official

A senior official of the National People’s Party (NPP) has suggested to JollofNews that Talib Ahmed Bensouda should be the one to lose sleep over the huge crowds that the United Democratic Party (UDP) pulled last weekend as it welcomed home its leader from a tour of Europe.

According to the top NPP official, the strong sign of cohesion, commitment and strength that the UDP exhibited last Saturday should be a source of worry for the Unite Movement for Change.

“Talib thought he could split the UDP down the middle, but what we saw on Saturday was a united and energised party,” the NPP official, who also holds a top government job, said in a chat to JollofNews.

The functionary, who we would not name for one or two reasons, said the NPP saw the rapturous welcome accorded to Lawyer Ousainou Darboe as a regurgitation of the same mass mobilisation strategy of the party.

“The UDP had since 1996 been mobilising massive crowds to welcome Darboe either from domestic or international tours, but these crowds never reflected on their performance at the polls,” the official said.

“If anything, I think Talib should be the one to be shaken by the overwhelming support that the UDP showed to Darboe last Saturday,” said the NPP top figure.

“As for us [NPP], wait and see what we will do in Sukata this Saturday,” the official bragged.
