Oil & Gas Expert Alarmed By Fuel Contamination At Gam-Petroleum Depot, Jah Oil Affected

A top Gambian oil and gas expert has expressed alarm over the fuel contamination at the Gam-Petroleum Depot in Mandinaring, stating that the issue exposed a “regrettable” breakdown in the country’s fuel supply chain.

“It’s probably the case that the contaminated fuel entered the supply chain from outside and it exposed a structural breakdown in the chain,” the expert said.

The top oil and gas expert could not hide his disappointment over the development, highlighting that it could cause reputational damage to Oil Marketing Companies that were supplied the “bad fuel”.

“We are just fortunate that we did not take any supply from the Gam-Petroleum Depot when the contaminated fuel was being supplied,” said the expert.

Meanwhile, JollofNews has gathered that Jah Oil Company was affected by the fuel contamination. Sources close to the management of the company told this medium that it “is treating” the issue as a sabotage.

According to sources, CEO and Chairman of Jah Multi-factory, Mr. Hamidou Jah, was of the belief that “this is not the first time that his company was being targeted”.
