Less than two months after assuming the role of an adviser at the Ministry of Digital Economy, senior NPP official Ahmad Gitteh has reportedly conducted himself in a manner that did not only violate the National Assembly Standing Orders, but was also disruptive and incongruous with his station.
The legislator for Foni Kansala Almamy Gibba has been criticized in some quarters for allegedly obstructing the flow of President Barrow’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the National Assembly recently.
However, Gibba told Coffee Time With Peter Gomez on Wednesday that he was compelled to invoke a particular area of the Assembly’s Standing Orders to raise a point of order because Ahmed Gitteh was conducting himself in a way that at times drowned the President’s speech.
Gibba said it was not only Gitteh, whose conduct was out-of-place. He stated that the head chief of Brikama Mr. Mondo Jatta and some Alkalolu that were invited were also culprits. The Foni Kansala MP explained that Gitteh, Jatta and some of the invited Alkalolu were among others that were clapping and making noise that could deflect the attention other people in the House.
Gibba pointed out that clapping and noise-making are not accepted in the House.
He, however, hinted that presidential adviser Momodou Sabally’s composure during the President’s SONA was commendable.
