(JollofNews) – The Gambia’s Supreme Court is unlikely to convene and hear a petition by President Yayha Jammeh challenging the results of the 1 December election.
Ahead of their planned sitting tomorrow, judges from Sierra Leone and Nigeria have still not travelled to The Gambia and are unlikely to do so, my judicial sources in the capital Banjul have confirmed.
Sierra Leonean judge Nicolas Browne-Mark has been spotted in the capital Freetown today.
Four top Gambian judges have left the country and handed in their cars to the judicial secretary, thereby making it unlikely they could be asked to replace the foreigners.
Only Justice O Uduma reported for work today.
Gambia’s Chief Justice, Nigerian-born Emmanuel Fagbele, had said that the five foreign judges from Nigeria and Sierra Leone would arrive before the court sitting on 10 January to hear the election petition.
Mr Jammeh’s mandate ends on 19 January when President-elect Adama Barrow says he will declare himself president.
There’s been no comment from the government.
make so if the jujas said enytng about on the19 u make people to be aware of it
This is exactly what should be happening to Dictator Jammeh. No competent judge in his sound mind should be willing to participate in this illegal and unnecessary hearing of Dictator Jammeh’s election petition. Gambians have already decided.
Traitors behave just like how Sheriff Bojang and others do.
Yahya expect that many of their tribesmen will abandon you, but remain steadfast and reaffirm your position “backward never forward ever. God is ever powerful and Inshallah they will all regret their acts. As the wollof saying goes “Sosseh du sosal ken” they are devillish and only want to see your downfall but they will never live to see that. Note that with their treacherous plans in their defections none will ever survive to see your downfall. It is now clear to you that with all what they were saying in niceties and praise singing they were undermining you just to see your downfall but God the all knowing and everpowerful is and will continue to.protect you from their evil machination. INSHALLAH.
LONGLIVE YAHYA A.J.J. JAMMEH
LONGLIVE THE GAMBIA
You are the type of people the English call enemy of progress, all of you behind this tyrant are just there to fill your pockets and nothing else…If you were someone in a correct state of mind, you won’t be saying such nonsense on this site….Try sitting an mediating and see how the future of our beloved country would be with this Dictator still in power….Stay blessed
Stop lieing!
God is not in this ur matter ooo
God is not a God of evil.
God has closed u and Jammeh’s
file, that no one can open…. Your time is up…..
My fear is that Gambia is gradually being exposed to terrorism, a battle that will devour it’s only seeming source of revenue, tourism. Priding currently as the safest country in Africa, a feat that earned them the status of the most visited tourism country in Africa. This is how Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Syria and the rest started, before creating an incredible humanitarian crises the world still struggles to navigate through. As a researched PhD in Counter terrorism and Critical crime cases, l am seeing a dangerous tommrow in the Gambia which will be at their own peril. Gambians must unite to solve this internal problem peacefully, otherwise you are all heading to an explosive market, where your government and their prospective rebel groups must be buying arms from the same manufacturers. I love Gambians, not a name calling time, settle this matter by carefrontation, not confrontation. There is a raging rapid fire ahead, only Jammeh and Barrow can stop it.
