Jollofnews has reliably learnt that Former Director of the Department of Licensing and Quality Control at the Gambia Tourism Authority, Binta Jobe, has been appointed Director of the Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA), replacing Momodou Cham. Binta Jobe who joined the GTA in 2001 is known to be an advocate of GTA’s key mandate, which is to institute quality standards in all aspect of the tourism industry. She is credited for the implementation of a hotel classification system despite the lack of funds that, which has been decried by all respective heads who have gone through this institution.
