Air Senegal has taken delivery of its first Airbus A220-300 jet. The new aircraft, registered as 6V-AOA, arrived in Dakar on Thursday evening after completing the delivery flight from Montreal (IATA-Code: YMX) via Paris (LBG).

During the Dubai Airshow in 2019, Air Senegal and Airbus announced the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purchase of eight Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

Air Senegal is based at Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar and commenced operations in May 2018 as the country’s new national airline.

Its current fleet consists of Airbus A319 and A321 airplanes as well as two ATR 72-600 turboprop aircraft. Furthermore, the airline took delivery of two Airbus A330neo in 2019. The wide-body jets are mainly deployed on long-haul routes to Europe and the United States.
