BBC’s Julian Marshall Retires After 51 Years Of Broadcasting

Long-standing broadcaster Julian Marshall has retired following over five decades of broadcasting work.

Julian’s retirement was announced yesterday after 51 years in the service of the world.

“Julian will be sorely missed and his departure from the BBC will definitely create a void, especially in the News Hour that he diligently and famously presented for many years,” commented a keen News Hour program listener Hassan Bojang.

“I first heard Julian’s voice on the BCC in the year 1998 and I got hooked to it. Since then, I have been religiously listening to his broadcasts. I am really devastated by the news of his departure from the BBC,” an avid BBC listener Saikou Manneh told JollofNews.

“I can’t believe that Julian has left the stage. It’s like I saw this coming, which may be why I was recording his broadcasts for posterity. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours, Julian. In the meantime, I have to rely on your recorded voices not to miss you,” another fan of Julian’s Momodou Bojang stated when approached for comment.

  1. I will deeply miss his voice on the BBC. Such a great voice and talent. I hope continues in some capacity, the way I occasionally still hear Owen Bennett Jones. Anyway, best wishes to Julian!
