“Boycott DK Telecom, ISPs Over High Costs To Gambians”

Folks, I kindly would like your opinions or recommendations for the best internet providers in The Gambia because the one I have (DK TELECOM) is exploitative and I have had them for several years now, paying D2,500 per month, but they take my money instead of providing basic actual real internet services to me. They’re doing what the colonial masters have done to us during slavery time, and that’s taxation without representation.

The DK TELECOM’s slow internet connectivity is due to intentional oversubscription on its network for more profit maximization, meaning they sell more bandwidth to customers than their infrastructure can handle. Even if only a small percentage of their subscribers use it at once, they will experience slow connectivity. As a result, during peak hours, it’s almost impossible to do any meaningful task online, and not only DK, but many other ISPs are doing similar acts as they are not being held accountable.

I would like to draw the attention of both the Inspector General of Police Seedy Muctarr Touray and the Barrow hegemony government to divert their attentions and focus on probing into the civilized way of theft and economic crimes by DK Telecom and other internet providers in The Gambia. This is an organized crime and needs to be eradicated in our country.

There’s no customer service in The Gambia but profit maximization from multiple Gambians or subscribers, and this needs to stop. DK TELECOM needs to be disbanded in The Gambia for fraud and being con artists to Gambians, like they overloaded their server, thus making it unworthy for consumers to browse but gaining money from Gambians.

This is wrong and very abnormal in a country that is 97.6% Muslims, and it constitutes outright robbery, stealing, and dishonesty to average Gambians. I call on every Gambian to make a class action lawsuit against internet providers in their undetected theft that continues to make Gambians poorer and poorer unabated.

Our collective silence is a normalization of this evil menace called stealing. As the Chairman of the West Coast Region Yankuba Darboe once said, ” don’t lie and don’t steal(DLADS). Most businesses in the Gambia especially internet providers are found wanting in these areas by taking people’s money rather than providing the services they paid for. As Gambians we need to break the silence and put an end to the normalization of wrong and evil things.

Many are languishing in prisons for stealing but those in corporate Gambians in suits deserve a spot in maximum prison walls for orchestrating economic crimes Gambians.
