(JollofNews) – A Gambian businessman who was detained incommunicado for eight months was yesterday given a D1 million bail by a local magistrate after he was charged with conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.

(JollofNews)- Authorities in the Gambia are yet to file criminal charges against a Muslim cleric who is languishing  in an unknown state detention centre since his arrest more than three months ago.

(JollofNews)- A son of former Gambian leader, Sir Dawda Jawara, who is currently being tried for allegedly stealing more than D8 million  (US$216,216.22) from the state has been re-arrested and detained.
