For clarity, this course is the first course that all 21-year-old Infantry Second Lieutenants in the US Army attends. Yet, this Samsudeen Sarr calls himself A RETIRED COLONEL AND AN EXPERT MILITARY MAN WITH DECADES OF MILITARY EXPERIENCE when actually he is nothing but a fired Lt Col from Yahya Jammeh’s rebel army. With his meager military training and experience, Samsudeen Sarr would not have even reached the rank of a Major in a modern military.

Saja, if you want modern respect for human rights, do not use offensively sexist terms such as “cry like a pussy.” To Fatou, no one “needs to be killed”. Now here is my question, at least, I have several. 1) Will the Gambian military back Jammeh? 2) Will Islamicists use this as a pretext for trying to take over the Gambia, or at least destabilize? 3) Assuming Barrow is inaugurated in January, do you think that he will simply change places but not methods, with Jammeh? In other words – are you all really going to be able to change your country into a functioning secular democracy where the wealth of the country is used to educate ALL Gambians, where the rights of women, homosexuals, ethnic minorities, and all other marginalized, oppressed groups will FINALLY be given importance? Should everyone support Barrow and his group? Even when he “assumes” power, should all Gambians board the Coalition bandwagon? Barrow and his group will inevitably meet the strongest opposition challenges when they assume power. There is no doubt about that. The nature of our Gambian people at the wee wee days of every jubilation event is always evident in their fanfare mood. When the event subsides and the truth comes to surface they begin the usual bickering. Remember that President Jammeh was hailed as such during the wee wee days of the 22nd July coup.
