Hamat Bah Must Be Held Accountable Under The Law

The commonly recognized five stages of grief, in sequence, are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. While these stages are often presented in a sequential manner, it is essential to acknowledge that grieving is a personalized process and individuals may experience them in a different order or intensity.

Minister Hamat NK Bah has currently manifested his grieving and the process might not be in any particular order. As a public figure, Honorable Bah must be reminded that he is expected to maintain a level of decorum and respect, particularly in civic discussions.

It is imperative for Honorable Bah to recognize that he is not above the law and that if investigations have implicated him, the most honorable course of action would be to clear his name without resorting to threats of litigation. Hamat Bah’s past conduct, including allegations of nepotism during his tenure as tourism minister, has raised concerns about his character and reputation.

My advice would be to adopt a more respectful tone and demeanor, recognizing that as a public servant, he is accountable to the people who pay his salary.

Allegations, while not tantamount to facts, do warrant a response. If Honorable Bah is confident in his innocence, it would be prudent for him to address the concerns in a polite and respectful manner, acknowledging that he is not above the law. Ultimately, it is essential for those implicated in reports to clear their names, rather than resorting to rhetoric.

We will hold Honorable Bah accountable while affording him the presumption of innocence until proven guilty by a competent court of law. His behavior has become unbecoming of a public servant, and it is expected that he will conduct himself in a manner befitting his position.
