Jabang Anti-Crime Arrests ‘Abusive’ Father, Reunites Child With Foster Family

Officers from the Anti-Crime Unit in Jabang on Thursday evening arrested a Nigerian man hours after they rescued his three-year-old son from another abuse, sources informed JollofNews.

This medium gathered that officers on Thursday morning swiftly responded to a distress call about the “merciless” beating of the four-year-old by his “abusive” father before he locked him up in his room and left for work.

Neighbours were quoted as saying that leaving the child locked up alone in the room for hours has become the father’s pattern of abuse.

“He made the young boy a punching bag, dishing out virtually daily beatings to him and other forms of abuse. The landlord, who reported the matter to the police on more than one occasion, would smuggle in food for him in the room. This reached a point where the child had to run from time to time to seek sanctuary from his young Serahule playmates. For them, Daniel was part of the family and insisted that he had to move in to stay with them. Their father Musa and their mother Fatou decided to take him in and had since been taking care of him as their own son,” one neighbour explained to this medium.

“When the child’s mother came to see him, she was so happy to see her child well-fed, well-dressed and emotionally and physically healthy. She then decided that her son must stay with Musa, Fatou and their children,” a source told JollofNews.

However, the boy’s Nigerian father summoned him to his room on Thursday morning and beat him in a way neighbours could no longer take it. Consequently, they reported the matter to Anti-Crime,” another neighbour explained.

Sources said the police immediately launched a rescue operation and removed the boy from potential long hours of illegal detention and burning heat, this medium gathered.

Reliable sources informed JollofNews that the Anti-Crime arrested the “serial” child abuser on Thursday evening and subsequently transferred him to Latriya police station.
