Njie Gongs Young People To Be Agents Of Change In December

The UDP’s regional spokesperson for North Bank Region (NBR) Karamo Njie has made an impassioned call on young people of The Gambian to obtain voter’s card in order to effect a regime change in December.

The Gambia’s election management body has since begun a nationwide voter registration exercise ahead of the country’s eagerly-awaited general election a little over seven months away.

The UDP’s regional spokesperson believed that this registration exercise offers the young people of The Gambian the rare opportunity to have a sway on their country’s political and socio-economic trajectory.

“I earnestly call on young people to prepare for the salvation of their country in December by coming out to register to vote,” Njie said in an interview with JollofNews recently.

The senior opposition figure stressed that the time has come for young people to take vanguard position in democratically ushering in a change of regime that would translate into prosperity and dignity for all.

“Young People are the ones perishing in deserts and high seas in search of opportunities in Europe. Here is a unique opportunity for the young people to vote for positive change by registering in order to vote for change,” he added.

He maintained that young people deserve opportunities and to live in dignity.

“Unfortunately, this government has woefully failed to deliver that,” he argued.

Njie urged young people to draw inspiration from their counterparts in Senegal, “who played an instrumental role” in the fall of Macky Sall’s government.
