Over 300 Public Health Officers Sent Home

The PMO has okayed the suspension of over 300 public and environmental health officers.

According to a press release, the affected health officers were supposed to go home for two months from July 1.

Below is the release signed on behalf of the permanent Secretary at PMO, Mr. O. Barrow:

“This is to inform you that the Public Service Commission has approved the suspension of 371 (Three Hundred and Seventy-one) Public and Environment Health Officers from duties for a period of 2 (two) months without salary, with effect from July 1, 2022. This is as a result of non-compliance to resume duties after a long period of unauthorized absence.”

By a copy of this letter the Director, Human Resources Information Sysytems (HRIS-PMO) is advised to stop their salaries with immediate effect.
