The investigation by the National Assembly into the disposal of Jammeh’s assets could suffer a setback as the legislature goes on recess next month.
The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly announced on Tuesday that the office will not “entertain” any official engagement with the legislators from 3rd August to 31 August, 2025.
“During this period, all businesses and activities, plenaries and committee sessions of the National Assembly will be suspended to allow members to proceed on vacation,” the Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly said.
The recess could coincide with the closely-watched parliamentary inquiry into the sale of the assets of former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh.
