Sierra Leone Beat Gambia 2-1 In AFCON Build-Up Friendly

(JollofNews) – The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone have beaten the Scorpions of the Gambia 2-1 on Saturday in El-Jadida, Morocco, as both sides deepen their preparations for Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for Cameroon early 2022.

Assan Ceesay converted from the spot after 22 minutes but striker Kei Kamara scored an equaliser in the 25 minutes. Midfielder Saidu Fofana of Kallon FC netted Leone Stars second goal in the 42 minutes.

The Scorpions will now lock-horns with South Sudan on Tuesday October 12, 2021 for the their final international friendly.

The Gambia is in Group F with Mauritania, Mali and Tunisia.
