(JollofNews) – In the run up to next month’s presidential election, the Gambia’s coalition of opposition parties is embarking on a nationwide campaign aimed at convincing voters to turn their back on President Yahya Jammeh.

Adama Barrow who is heading a coalition of opposition parties including the Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS), the National Reconciliation Party (NRP), the Gambia Moral Congress (GMC), the National Convention Party (NCP), the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) the Gambia Party for Democracy and Progress (GPDP) is today holding a number political meetings in Essau, Nuimi Lamin, Pakau Njogou, Ndungu Kebbeh, Kerr Omar Saine, Darsilameh and Kerewan.

Mr Barrow, 51, is being accompanied in the tour by other key opposition figures and thousands of supporters. He will hold meetings on Thursday in Kerr Ardo, Kerr Pateh, Salikenni, Noo Kunda, Katchang, Sarakunda, Farafenni, Ngain Sanjal, Ballanghar Kerr Nder and Kaur Wharf Town.
