(JollofNews) – A Gambia girl is taking part in this year’s Miss Star International 2017 Competition in the United States.
Fatou Mboob, 19, will be competing with girls from other African countries and American states.
The competition which will be held in July 2017 in Florida, is organised by Star Pageantry International and is aimed at inspiring, building the self-esteem and confidence of people across the globe.
During the competition, contestants will among other things showcase their individual unique presence, personality, health, fashion, and creativity.
Ms Mboob intends to use the competition to help and inspire poor and less privileged children around the world.
“I want to help build their confidence and bring the world’s attention to their plight,” she said.
“Children are dying, suffering from hunger and other contagious diseases and I want to use this opportunity to help provide and care for them. I really need your support and we can make a huge difference in their lives if we join hands by donating here.”
