Gambia international Ebou Adams has signed a two-year deal with the English League Two side, Forest Green Rovers .

Adams, 23, was signed from Ebbsfleet United for an undisclosed fee .

The midfielder started his career at Dartford before joining Premier League side Norwich City in February 2016.

During his time at the club he played in Premier League Two and for the Under-23s in an English Football League Cup game against MK Dons with loan spells at Braintree, Shrewsbury and Leyton Orient before leaving last summer.

Adams made 39 appearances for Ebbsfleet last season as they narrowly missed out on a play-off place.

He played for Gambia during the Africa Cup of Nations qualification and recently won his sixth international cap in a 1-0 friendly win against Morocco.

Speaking to Stroud News and Journal, Adams said it was a no-brainer for him to join Forest Green when he heard of the club’s interest.

“I watched the play-offs and the team that caught my eye were Forest Green,” said Adams.

“The way they played their football, they looked like a good club. I never thought, at the time, I would come and join them. I was on international duty and I got a call saying that Forest Green were interested and I couldn’t say no, it’s a great club.

“I will give 110 per cent, no matter what. I’m known as a box-to-box midfielder, I love defending, love attacking and love being involved in the game.

“I will give my all for the team and I’m looking forward to showing what I can do here.”

Forest Green manager Mark Cooper said: “He’s another good young prospect and the kind of box-to-box midfielder we haven’t got, that pure legs and destructiveness.

“He has quality on the ball, something we are going to work with, and he is highly thought of.

“It was only due to the fact that Ebbsfleet have got well documented issues that we’ve managed to get him for a nominal fee and a big thank you to Gary Hill there for making it run smoothly.”
