IOM/Gambian Embassy In Libya Partner To Facilitate Migrants’ Return

The IOM has delivered technical and operational equipment to the Gambian embassy in Libya to facilitate the voluntary return of Gambian migrants from the troubled North African nation, the UN body revealed on Saturday.

It’s hoped that the equipment will smoothen the issuance of travel documents and pre-departure counseling for Gambians “interested in voluntarily returning home”.

“The handover was carried out by IOM Voluntary Humanitarian Return program (VHR) Consular support team, with financial support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation,” IOM Libya office said.
