The nominated councilor at Brikama Area Council (BAC), Sheriffo Sonko, has been slapped with a charge perceived as a behavior that is disrespectful to their authority.
In a Facebook post widely circulated on social media platforms., Sonko said he has been charged with threatening to police officer.
Las Friday, Sheriffo Sonko was arrested aalongside Gambia’s main opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) Campaign Manager Momodou Sabally. A situation that the party to call for their release, describing the move taken by authorities as “reminiscent of the Jammeh era.”
