Kanifing Municipality Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda is currently on a productive visit to France as a guest of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs through their Invitation Program for Future Personalities (PIPA).
As one of 75 young leaders from around the world chosen for this fully funded program, Mayor Bensouda is engaging in high-level discussions aimed at fostering collaboration between France and the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC).
The PIPA initiative, founded in 1989 and overseen by the Center for Analysis, Forecasting and Strategy (CAPS), aims to connect emerging global leaders with French institutions across various sectors.
Mayor Bensouda’s tour has included insightful visits to strategic bodies such as the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate General for Local Authorities, Paris City Council, and institutions like the Institute for International and Strategic Relations (IRIS), as well as waste management agencies Syctom and CiTeo.
These meetings provided an in-depth exploration of potential collaborations beneficial for KMC’s growth.
A major highlight for Mayor Bensouda was meeting with Senator Marta de Cidrac, Vice President of the Senate’s Commission of Regional Planning and Sustainable Development, during which he had the unique chance to observe a live senate session.
Mayor Bensouda also visited Bordeaux, where he focused on establishing critical partnerships to further KMC’s development goals.
