Nuha Touray, former Secretary to Cabinet

A former secretary to the Cabinet in the previous regime of Yahya Jammeh has been named as the Gambia’s new Secretary General and head of the Civil Service.

Nuha Touray was appointed Tuesday by President Adama Barrow. He succeeds Muhammed BS Jallow, who retired on the day before at the age of 60.

Mr Jallow has since been appointed deputy executive secretary at the Senegalo-Gambia Permanent Secretariat.

Mr Touray is the fifth Secretary General to serve President Barrow’s government which assumed power in January 2017.

Previous holders of the post includes Dawda Fadera, Habib Drammeh, Ebrima Camara and Muhammed BS Jallow.

I don’t know Nuha Touray personally nor do I care to. I do know his pedigree and I am acquainted with his public service record.
I personally believe that Yahya Jammeh is Evil. I also believe that those who served him are complicit in his many crimes against The Gambia.
Rape, Murder, Torture and a host of other unimaginable crimes. Of course we know the least of those crimes is looting of the treasury.
I know many Gambians lost their lives and liberty in the fight for the soul of a grateful nation. How and Why Mr Barrow can justify the hiring and appointments of co conspirators in the “killing fields” of 1994 to 2016 is just mind boggling. This President will undoubtedly pay for consistent pervasive malignant poor judgement at the polls.
