The mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) has tested positive for coronavirus.
Talib Ahmed Bensouda said he is in good spirits and is self-isolation.
In a video posted on his Facebook page, Bensouda said he took the test after he started experiencing headache, lost of smell and taste.
“My test results came back positive today but I am in good spirits and not in bad shape,” he said.
“I am appealing to the public to follow the health guidelines and and to also stay at home. Coronavirus is real and we can only defeat it if we follow the health guidelines.”
