Gambia international winger Gibril Sillah is set to begin a new chapter in his career after agreeing to join Algerian top-flight side ES Sétif. The 26-year-old will undergo a medical on Saturday before finalising a two-year deal with the club.
Sillah joins Sétif from Tanzanian Premier League outfit Azam FC, where he made a strong impression over two seasons. He scored 21 goals and contributed 10 assists in 68 appearances, playing a key role in Azam’s attacking setup. His pace, vision, and finishing ability made him one of the standout players in Tanzanian football during his time there.
ES Sétif, eight-time Algerian champions, are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2024/25 season in which they finished sixth. The arrival of Sillah is part of a broader effort to strengthen the squad and re-establish the club as a title contender.
Founded in 1958, ES Sétif is one of Algeria’s most successful clubs, with a strong reputation in both domestic and continental competitions. For Sillah, the move represents a significant step forward — and a chance to test himself at a higher level.
Once the deal is finalised following his medical, Sillah is expected to join the team’s pre-season training immediately.
