President Adama Barrow has yet to appoint a new trade minister after his chosen successor to the former trade minister Modou Ceesay declined the presidential offer of appointment.
Former auditor-general Modou Ceesay was reportedly consulted by Mr. Barrow to take up the trade ministerial role, but Ceesay has since turned down the President’s offer. He preferred to remain in his former position but he was recently unceremoniously removed from his office by law enforcement agents when he reported to work.
