I write in total condemnation of the above subject matter by Kebeli Demba Nyima on the Daily observer medium publication dated 11/15/2025. Such a preconceived notion is tragic, laughable, sickening, and ill-informed, as the Gambia Police Force under my friend Seedy Muctarr Touray has experienced the worst record in every aspect, and it’s not even funny.
Under Seedy Muctarr Touray as IGP, more division in the police exists today than ever before, human rights and dignity violations have reached astronomical numbers, low morals within the ranks and files of the GPF prevail, selective justices persist, and damning police brutalities against innocent citizens they’re supposed to protect based on friendship, nepotism, and loyalty to him and political actors occur.
These submissions took a toll on me, judging my fraternity with Seedy Muctarr Touray, but this isn’t personal; it’s evidence-based, as the institution and credibility of our country depend on it. Yes, I am a huge advocate of rewarding people based on skillsets, impeccable character, track proven record, hard work, exceptional performance, and making a mark in the lives and livelihoods of the people we serve daily, but in this case, such is a gimmick and a PR stunt pointing to tendencies of the whole head of our police institution, Mr. Seedy M. Touray, engaged in a misleading narrative for self-recognition.
It can have severe consequences, such as undermining trust, distorting reality, and fostering a culture of dishonesty. The IGP’s reasons for such irresponsible and misleading behavior include personal gain, fear of criticism, and pressure to perform.
To address these fake trajectories by the IGP, it’s essential to promote transparency and accountability, foster a culture of honesty, and encourage critical thinking.

Credible sources at police HQ revealed that payments have been made to certain media houses through commissioner Ousman Cham to peddle unrealistic narratives about IGP’s leadership that never existed. In as much as I respect the views of Kebeli Demba Nyima, I condemn in the strongest terms such propaganda by the IGP, and Gambians cannot be fooled again.
