(JollofNews) – President Adama Barrow of the Gambia will this evening travel on an official visit to Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana.
During the visit, which will be his fourth overseas travel since he assumed office in January, Mr Barrow will hold discussions with his fellow head of states aimed at strengthening trade, bilateral relations and other issues.
The Gambia has cordial relations with Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana and their leaders have played a significant role in finding a peaceful solution to the political standoff in the Gambia following last December’s disputed election results.
These countries Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana and including Nigeria, should have been top of the list of countries of priority for President Barrow to visit. These visits are already overdue. Good of him and his government to put these visits into effect anyway.
After these visits, I hope he finally sits in the country and try and get the government running. 4th visit in 4 months is enough travelling. Gambia needs a plan for the way forward and Barrow needs to start acting like the President he is and take control of the affairs of the state. There is just too much at stake in terms of security, communicating with the population and coming up with a roadmap on who to move the country forward.
President Barrow, why are you wasting your Country’s precious money by visiting these Highly Indebted Poorest Countries?? This will not help anyone and better engage yourself in sensible and constructive activities. I have lost my respect for you
Long live Sierra Leone, long live Liberia, long live Ghana, long live Nigeria, long live Mali, long live Mauritania, long live Guinea Bissau, long live Guinea Conakry, long live Senegal, long live Burkina Faso, long live Cape Verde, long live Togo, long live Ivory Coast, long live Benin and etc., Long live the ECOWAS.
Kawsu,
Truthful and honest people say the truth irrespective of the repercussions. Thus your statements on these numerous futile trips abroad, manifest your character.
But on the other hand, the writer above, Bourne, one of the blind-folded Barrow followers would just go in for whatever his incompetent administration does.
Four foreign visits in four months! Amazing. Just to increase his per diem emoluments with the large entourage he shuttles with thereby ripping the country of her meagre resources. That’s the “best way” Barrow and his buddies can justify deeping their hands into our coffers, by STEALING!
What were the results of the four trips he made earlier? What information did our people receive about those trips? That’s the style of crude democratic process this incompetent administration is carrying out.
While our farmers are preparing the fields for the early rains and mustering their muscles for the month of SUNKARO/RAMADAN, moments that require government intervention to improve the livelihood of our people, this useless administration is plying between countries to entrench its stay in power. No doubt, we have a former British Argos watchman in presidential clothing surrounded by a bunch of selfish, corrupt, tribalist and nepotic elements.
We have a long way to make any headway! May Allah The Almighty(SWT) redeem us from this predicament.
@babu Soli, I think you are making a mear accusation for something barrow has to do it whether now or later it is a good thing notting bad at all with his visiting four state if time allowed him. Our African nation we should encourage brother’s keeper and sisters keeper. Thank you.
Better late than never is a saying. But it too late to mend a lack of confidence. After 4 months of being assisted by your neighbours, you went around touring france, congo bcos you were being driven. by emotions.
I hope you will receive the much needed respect and attention. When will you visit Nigeria, Mauritania? After another 8 months?
Trips he made his priority are somewhat irrelevant and not that he shouldn’t travel to strengthen bilateral relations with the relevant countries. Gambia is not suppose to be like a North Korea of concrete jungle men who want to unite with or annex their Southern brothers and sisters by the menace of nuclear warheads. Is always the most corrupt, ill hearted idiotic people like Babu Soli who would want to run national and global rights and justices. Babu Soli.. are the type who would wrong it simply because they didn’t say it. Babu Soli is one of the most block-headed, primitive and jealous Gambian one can come across.
May the Quran he pretends to be quoting from shed light in his heart. For he evidently knows not a what it takes to preach from the Quran.
Bourne,
When sane and healthy-minded people talk about priorities instead of niceties, rights instead of privileges, you come up with your idiocy and stupìd analogues.
We are talking about time frames and priorities. In less than 6 months in office this half-baked “president” has shuttled with entourage to 7 countries. What the hell is that? How much is that deeping into our resources and what beneficial gains are we accruing from those innocuous visits?
Even the North Korea you refered to has preferential relationships with some countries, of course. That’s their political priority and nobody’s business.
We want partnership on equal and mutual terms, not relationships that would subjugate us to the dictamens of third parties/institutions/countries. Keep your IMPISH ideas to yourself, you good-for-nothing!
Foolish old man. People your age and intellect as you claim, are doing much better than you farting and bragging about yourself. You must have bred a lot of inferiority complexity at St. Augustine’s. Isn’t it your type of political ideology…Be at one locked off corner of the world rolling people’s heads down the ditch..Of course you are not the type of state of mind who would think anyone should care when people are being oppressed, tortured and slaughtered ‘somewhere’. A heartless human being like you would only say; ‘it’s not your business’ I know you wish you have people like me in those horrible makeshift slaughter houses of Gpmb, you tired, sick and old carnivorous lion, but sadly for you now, you can’t prey on young people’s lives for your blood drinking rituals.
Just take heed of Natty Dreads advice and find a much better solution for mental depression. It is quite evident that the real statesmen are not sad at all, like you bitter hearted primitive, savage and liar. Keep up on your trampling hooves. At least Gambia will be alert of the threats of a beast resurrect of the Jurassic.
But what the hell keep doing you down Babu Soli?
What’s it about a man of your age and bluffed-of education being so insolent and illmannered like this. Look presidents usually do most of the official state visits new in office. You might have missed a fact about ‘deeping’ and dipping into the resources. One thing is for sure, your ‘love’,Jammeh has been directly dipping into the Gambia’s resources and even into Gambians’ pockets. Barrow government can only be advised for them to distinguish themselves in words and practise, from Jammeh’s criminality. Though he fed your your carnivorous ass with lots of beef at the expense of the oppressed Gambians, it’s time to burn those fats and get down to some serious business, for example, business like genuine criticism. Your pointless criticisms right now indicates you are a very dull type. Please don’t be angry and take sometime to reason.
Intolerance and Grandiosity is a Diagnosable Mental Health Imparement.
Natty Naughty, and “Jack”, Please Simmer Down with The Ethnocentric Minded Narrative of “Fassaya”, Mandinka word meaning Betrayal or “Taking sides” inspite of the side taken being in the “Wrong”. All Gambians, Should Take a Deep Breath, Exhale and Vow to Temper or Rationally, Peacefully and with an Even Emotional Temperamental Sermon their Better Angels and Not Devils of Past and Present “Closets” Full of our Collective “Skeletons”. Collective Skeletons from 1970s, 1981, 1994 and 2016 to the Present. Babu Soli and other Gambians Have Opinions and Point of view that you may not agree with or entertain. However, it’s their Privilege and Right to Express their Opinion and Point of View so long as Those Views and Yours are within the Definition of what Constitutes their view of Participatory Citizenship. It is Hypocritical and Dangerous for those who Subscribe to the #Gambians Have Decided”, which implies “A New Democratic Dispensation” of “Free Speech and Expression”, Attempt to Censor, Abridge, and in some instances Threaten to do Bodily Harm to those they Disagree with. Where do you draw the line between the Obessesive Demonization, Objectification and Vigilantism and even Physical Assaults of those who Support or are Perceived to be APRC, PDOIS OR PPP Supporters and What you have for about 20 Years Agitated and Fought Against?. The Current UDP Leadership and Regime’s “Fassaya” and “Baadingya”, Mandinka for a Socio-Cultural Practice of Supporting “Mother’s Child/Children” in this case, Discriminative Practices Based on Economic, Legal and Social Protection, Promotion and Employment of Ones Ethnic Group at the Expense of the Rest. In Gambia’s case, marginalization and Purging of the Jola ethnic group and in some instances the Fula and Wolof Ethnic Groups from the Gambian Civil Service in favor of the Mandinka. This is a Diabolical Design and Practice that cannot be Endured or Sustained and expect to end in a Climate or Environment of Peaceful Co-exitence. UDP Enablers and Militants alike, find No Contradiction in Condernming former President Yaya Jammeh’s regime, while at the same time attempt to twist and turn facts with reference to Ethnic Cleansing and Regime Based Marginalization of other Ethnic Groups within the Civil Service, especially, the Jola. All Denials and Subterfuge Not withstanding, such Acts of Malfeasance and Promulgated or Not is Evident in the Numberous Purging of Jolas from NAWEC, the Prison Officers, the Police, and the Military Force. Again, there have been Fulas and some Wolof Officers who were also Purged. However, for the most part, the Victims were and are Predominantly Jola. Collective Punishment is a Universally Repugnant and Condernmed Practice. Yet, UDP Regime Led Leadership who ascribe the Legal Profession as their Career have been either Complicit or Witness to the Unlawful Practice and yet Remain Silent Co-conspirators. I have Never and Shall Never Accept the Proposition that Majority in numbers, Equals Might/Right, and Minority Equals Subjugation/Wrong. What is more Facist and Nazi in Thought and Practice than such Propositions. Presidents are Required to travel from time to time for Reasonable and Urgent Matters, including Emergencies and Matters of Importance or Significance to the Nation or State. These travels ought be Prioritized, based on Broad National Interest and Securing of Investment Potential to be gained from such Official Travel or Visits of One Head of State to another. It should not be based on a “Marabouts” advise nor on a Personal Enrichment or Security Vacation or Trip. The later ones can be Undertaken during the President’s or Head of State’s Vacation Time and at such times, only the President or Head of State and IMMEDIATE Family Should be in tow and No “Excess baggage” To and From the Destinastion (s). Of course, the President might need two or three Body guards just in Case. However, he does not need nor should he be allowed to take along every Malamin, Cherno, Macky or Fatoumata, Ndeye, and Coumba. Only the nuclear family please. On Official Travel or more linguistically accurate, State Business; if Adama Barrow is Truly a businessman as he is been Sold by UDP and his Benefactors, he would Wisely Conclude that “Travel EXPENSES Does Eat into the Profit Margin of the Business or Enterprise. The Enterprise is the Gambian and Adama Barrow is the Chief Executive Officer. To avoid Impunity with regard to Financial 419 of High Crimes and Misdemeanors of a Million Dalasi here and a Million Dalasi there, going into Personal Bank Accounts in three years, a Billion Dalasi will be gone by the “Backway”, No pun intended. The point, Natty Naughty and Jack, is the Gambian by nature has always had a Solid dislike for Impunity and Selfish Self-service. That is why ever so slowly but surely, those who engage in it at the Top of the Gambian Nation State end Up paying dearly for their Transgressions Against the Gambian People. Babu Soli, I and you and all Free Born Gambians have a Stake in Endeavoring to Mitigate that without Undue Physical, Verbal or Written Assault and Threats. Again, Simmer Down. We Are All in this Together in Peace and Tranquility or Perish Together in a Sizzggy of Ethnic Cleansing and Ethnic Regime Based Marginalization Baptised with and by “Fassaya” and “Mbaadingya” Code. Gambians is More than the Sum Total of One Individual, One Ethnic Group, and Region . One Gambia, One People, One Destiny.
Sidi, ‘intolerance’ to what? If it is intolerance to a criminal regime’s murdering of young citizens and family incorporation of public resources; of course it is zero tolerance.
Bourne is spot on; you and Babu Soli are both drowning beings who have nothing to grab on but the water that is drowning you.
You two, Sidi and Babu Soli.., are dead guilty of your horrible crimes against innocent Gambians and finding it hard to get eggs to confess. A psychologist or perhaps a psychiatrist will tell you exactly the same.
Shiit sidi N Bojang you are mixing up your arguments I can’t bearly understand your points, but anyway jammehs regime involves murdering gambian citizens especially those who don’t deserved to be murdered, this is what anger many of us include international community. Lets put it like this way, if jammehs regime was protecting all gambians lives and make sure no one get kill unlawfully and no tribalism, instead you put more smile on the gambian people, of course we will remember yahya jammeh even if his government comes to end. This is what some of you guys don’t get it.
Babu Soli
Stop using too much ”Viagra” as its making you dumber, inconsistent, confused and aggressive. Your ideas are more impish than any in this forum and can’t see what good if any you are to anything relevant to our nation. President Barrow have to travel to mend fences with friends, neighbors and partners as our country will never again be a pariah state cut off from the civilized world as happened during the despotic rule of the Kanilai evil monster.
You have nothing new or productive to say except the usual hatred filled bullshit dripping from your anal cavity instead of your mouth against the Mandinkas or President Barrow’s government for that matter.
Jollof News has developed a reputation through this medium where mature and well-considered opinions are shared. Our leaders and others with a deep sense of appreciation for what may be in the best interest of our dear country would read such opinions and reflect on what they might be able to do to strengthen the governance and overall development of the country. Trading in insults and marginalizing each other only makes us look mediocre. So please folks, let us discuss, debate and disagree, but let’s be civil about it and stop the insults and name-calling. The latter advance nothing and they certainly do not help in advancing our country. Yes, the haters will always be there, but even they can be positively engaged without stooping low into the abyss. My five bututs!!!
Sulayman Ceesay, I have seen the same point every time the creature takes off in a swoosh, I can’t help too but launch my patriots. This can’t be just a hater. It’s hazardous, destructive and menacing to the country’s democratisation process.
I am not a kid but I’m not one either, who knows how to read or write when Hon. Ousainou, and Chief justice Hassan Jallow, were going to Saint Augustine’s.
Thanks very much however, for a good piece of advice like this.
Excellent observation Mr Ceesay;
Perhaps His Excellency is just filling in for the Foreign Secretary ???
Jack the Jackass,
You are justifying the unjustifiable. If you seriously believe that Jammeh wasted our resources, which is a LIE, does it warrant Barrow and his icompetent administration to follow suit?
You must be naive, unpatriotic and silly to be two wrongs make a right. All along you blind-folded Barrow followers have been unable to see the waste in our resouces that this incompetent “government” has been doing in just under 5 months! Do you want to condone that? This inept British Argos watchman in presidential clothing has shuttled Dakar-Paris-Brazzaville and now Freetown-Monrovia and Accra to do WHAT and bring back WHAT?
When a fat-bellied leader doesn’t report back to his citizenry, it tantamounts to undemocratic priniciples which eventuallly germinate corruption, nepotism and absolutism.
babu u are a fool. people should stop listening to you. go to hell
Babu says: “… This inept British Argos watchman in presidential clothing … “.
Ouch! Sounds like jealousy from a St Augustine’s educated low-achiever!
The Great Kwame Nkrumah was a DISHWASHER here in London – and made soup for himself and his flatmates from thrown away left-over food;
Jomo Kenyatta too was destitute here in London and used to lock himself in his room and hide away from a whole week!
Even Che Guevara washed dishes across Latin America from his home in Argentina on his way to the Cuban Revolution.
So Babu, NO SHAME AT ALL IN WORKING AT ARGOS.
Babu Soli; You make very good arguments and points. You don’t need to enjoin with those who seek to distract you from your observations.
I always believe if you stoop to name calling/ You are in danger of losing the argument by default.
Please pray continue.
Bourne,
Don’t put yourself on the defensive and the savoury side. You have always been vituperative from the onset.
Thanks for calling me a foolish old man. I only wish you never live to reach that old age. You are stupid to belittle old age and its virtues. The old in the Gambia are used to your insults and lack of respect for that revered group within our society. That’s why the youth live a stressful life. Running around every day for mundane things without success. And where they succeed in amassing “something” illicitly they don’t live long to enjoy that. Besides, they don’t live in peace of mind.
I’m happy that I’m old or young or middle-aged. Just gauge how old I am. I have told you that my age has benefitted me a lot from day one of my stay in Holland. The Dutch know that. And my family here and in The Gambia and good countrtymen/women know that. That’s enough, that’s what matters. You IMP
But are you worn out? You do not possess any democratic virtues. From 2nd December 2016 when the APRC was cheated at the Gambian polls, the opposition within and outside have all along been trying to annihilate that venerable party because they thought it was time with their DEMON-CRATIC might to SMASH, DEMOLISH, DESTROY that party with all its people, good or bad. That’s your DEMON-CRATIC short-sightedness.
Democracy calls for divergent views/opinion, which at times are hard to digest. But you stupid and short-mindedness has always led you to incriminate anybody APRC. Are all President Jammeh and APRC supporters evil? Are all those related to President Jammeh evil? Are all those who worked in his government evil? Are all his children evil? Are all those foreign institutions/governments who worked in partnership with him evil?
I need answers from your DUNCE head!
That’s why we are fighting back with sword, word and wits to continue securing our rightful place in the Gambia. We’ll stand firm to fight inspite of your DEMON-CRATIC onslaught. Besides, the Gambia is for Gambians and her well-wishers.
Baby Soli, stupid tired old brains. What you fail to understand is the difference between a stupid old brains and an aged and dignified statesman. You think the future generations would wish you live a day longer laying crap in their sight. You wish people are dead. You are a serial killer everyone with a grade of sense above yours will note by the way you get peeved up with criticism directed to your lover, the chief assassin, the sent off Yaya Jammeh. I have said it over and again quoting the wise; you can run away from the truth but not the devil’s incarnate in your online Babu Soli. I wish I age, but not to age to become such a wicked hearted elderly person, who would wish people younger him die earlier. Can your demonstrated personality be distinguished from Yaya Jammeh? A typical hypocrite who always plays the prank to make more enemies for his perceived enemies. Unlike you, I am profound enough to know and accept the law of life of aging, that one hopes to be muchmore wiser, grown up and intelligent in the process. The life of an elderly person like you who aged to be in contrast to the virtues in the latter is quite a regret to the nation they claim to belong. You might be right I lack a democratic values but worn out is not it. If I were a politician, I don’t think I’ll unleash dangerous Aprc crazy old pitbulls like you. Oops, I forgot I have accorded with Mr. Ceesay’s advice.
I am not worn out!, to tell you devil Soli.., I understand you aren’t capable responding to sensible write ups reluctantly but always have to go drafting first, you worn out silly idiot junk in the midst of our elders. Do yourself good by engaging young people to teach you style in ranting. In fact, might seem contradictory to my lack of democratic values but I once had the idea in the forums that Aprc should be given chance to mature, but that should be excluding old mad dogs like you. Annihilating social establishments and individuals is only synonymous to your blatant vitriol and diatribe toward human beings. God say; who shall wish the children bad and make them suffer to come back onto them as lava from volcano. Come out of your mental hallucination you jealous and backward creature. God/Allah knows what you and I don’t know. Who could have lived his life more illicitly like your boss and lover, Yayah Jammeh, who was poor and outta nothing, to come shove his snout in a country’s resources to get fat like a swine. Send your death wishes you primitive menace to Gambia, and keep up on your straw grasping. I know for a fact that I am no better, wiser or braver than those who died in their youth. You’ve said it. Gambia for Gambians and her well wishes. You don’t belong to that category. A typical devilish elder in the society who goes cursing the youth….Guess why all the awful mysteries haunting a small nation….A couple of contemptuous and evil hearted elders in a small country like the Gambia is like two nuclear missiles aimed at her.
God guide and save Gambia and her future generations.
Rect; I know you aren’t capable of responding……..’WITHOUT RELUCTANCE’
Bourne
Bravo my friend for putting this miserable nob jockey Babu in his place. He is degenerate, mishap of creation, a zealot, lonely contemptuous unenlightened educated nincompoop.A shallow confused bredda who thinks working in Argos disqualify someone from holding higher office. Do allow me Babu to refer you to Dida’s piece above….. Dr.Kwame Nkrumah washed dishes while he was in London. Jomo Kenyatta and Che Guevara were once destitutes. I guessed Babu Soli himself had done some menial jobs in his miserable immigrant life, or your myopic and amnesiac old self can’t fathom the idea that most great men in history had a challenging early life.
Thanks Natty Dread, but I still think you got the right slang to wash the gunk off this idiot’s head. He is wild and dangerous to the Gambia and her future generations. Please don’t be off guard!
Examples @Dormu Rewwum Gambia gave us of Dr. Kwame Nkurumah, Jomo Kenyatta and Che Guevara, should be able to help the featherhead, Babu Soli, get at a sense but I doubt so. I think ‘the mad man’ should be trapped by the wildlife experts and caged. Imagine a head sunk up in a mule’s *** for so long….
Sidi,
I’ll take your advice and adhere to it, I promise. But I get very very angry at the bad treament of anyone who does not dance to the tune of Bourne, Natty Nasty Dread, Jack the Jackass, “dr” Isatou Sarr & Co and all the present incompetent administration enablers/supporters.
Fancy how they have all along addressed you, Sidi. These are the insullent breed of irresponsible and uneducated mass that believe everyone should go their way.
However, I have a last response for Nasty Dreadful Natty and that’s it. Allow me to send that and period. Be blessed, brother Sidi
Babu Soli, Keep your friends close, and your Detractors even closer. Eyes on the Results, not just the competition and the Reverse. Keep them in the Rearview Mirror. Stay Engaged, Stay True to Your Convictions.
Babu says: “I have a last response for Nasty Dreadful Natty and that’s it. Allow me to send that and period”.
KWELI KUNA MUNGU! HASANTE SANA MZEE BABU! KWAHERI.
Dormu Rewwum Gambia aka (Luntango Suun Gan Gi) I would like to learn this language if I have access to it. I guess it has it’s own alphabets and numerics. I am acquainted to some Africans too who say to me in the morning; ASBURI ASBAHI or something like ASBAHI ASBURI. Please help me recall precisely. I am friends with others who own a business called AGUNA MATAATA. I really like people of that end of Africa. I want to get to know them better.
Nonetheless, I hope this slightly alphabetised dumbo, Babu Soli, stops talking about others being UNEDUCATED. I am a bit amazed you never even once bothered to come to his help like you usually do with others.
Bourne, no one can help a fool! We will learn Swahili together in Banjul someday.
Babu Soli
Nobody among those you mentioned is asking you to dance to their tune. None of us give a damn what tunes you dance to or which damn way you take. We put our arguments forward and play our part as patriotic citizens by giving support and guidance to this government, praise when deserved and criticize when merited. Only fools like yourself and Sidi Bojang went about like rabid dogs insulting all in this forum, glorifying an agenda, a man who destroyed our country, raped, robbed, tortured and disappeared our loved ones without trace. You two ignorant, heartless, petty classless old fools can’t even acknowledge the various crimes committed by Jammeh and his henchmen yet admonished us to acknowledge the so called lofty achievements of an evil tyrant. Your only contributions in this discourse is lies, fabrications, innuendos, bigotry, tribal disharmony, insults and bravado as to how educated you two fools are. We always have respect for the elderly in our homeland, but you two fools have given up that right as elderly citizens by being petty, insidious, badmouthed and childish.
What is a competent administration for you Babu? If an administration that have total disregard for the rule of law, total disregard to the constitution of our land, total disregard to human rights of our people is what you called competent, then i will agree with Bourne for thinking that your head is in a mule’s ass.
Natty Dread, who knows the two themselves have robbed, raped, tortured and forced disappeared loved ones during the Jammeh regime of atrocities.. The conspirators and assassins were everywhere; at home and abroad. The demonstrated ill-heartedness of Babu Soli cannot be a just an exercise of constitutional rights, a learning scheme or entertainment online.
Dormu Rewwum Gambia,
Those blessed personalities you mentioned came out with university degrees. With the menial jobs they did during their studies abroad, they kept up abreast with the momentum and read a lot thus earning them the illustruous position with excellent foresight to rule.
What did our British Argos watchman do while he was overstaying in Britain? We Gambians are NOT blessed at having a semi-educated watchman at the helm of our affairs. Please don’t abuse us by saying we are gratified with having such a dunce “president”
We know it’s Allah(SWT)The Almighty’s writing but we will continue to pray to rid us with this idiotic “president” from our venerable seat!
Bourne, Natty Dread, Jack the Jackass and the clique of idiotic Adama Barrow blind-folded supporters.
PLEASE THIS ARTICLE WHICH IS NOT MINE AND YOU WOULD NEVER WANT IT DIFFUSION
The Adama Barrow government, has been accused of condoning and benefiting from the illegal collection of stolen monies from Gamtel’s international gateway, through the exorbitant international call termination fees imposed on callers by greedy phone carriers, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Over ten million United States dollars is usually accrued from the illegal practice monthly. The money goes into the pockets of corrupt Gamtel officials, government officials, private network carriers, and gateway hackers.
When Adama Barrow assumed the presidency, his Finance Minister Amadou Sanneh, summoned a press conference claiming that he has uncovered a smoking gun at Gamtel, the nation’s main telecommunication company. Mr. Sanneh used the news conference to indict dictator Jammeh and his cronies for having milked millions of dollars from the Gamtel gateway, through the exorbitant fees imposed on international callers—with the help of some phony phone card companies. Thanks to Amadou Sanneh, Gambians were told that a special bank account was opened at the Central Bank by Jammeh to run the Gamtel scam.
One hundred days into Barrow’s presidency, the same Gamtel international call termination fee scam is ongoing. The Barrow government has been accused of accepting millions of dollars derived from the very scam that they earlier claimed was happening under Jammeh’s watch. This is a regime of contradictions. They are allegedly repeating the same corrupt practices that they accused Jammeh of.
Gambia is one of the most expensive countries to call on earth today. It will cost you nothing less than 69 cents per minute to call the Gambia, when other West African countries call rates are much cheaper. The Gamtel scam is said to be a lucrative venture. It is enriching many officials in Banjul, including some private carriers.
Reports have it that the current Gamtel MD Mr. Sidebeh, was privy to the scam prior to taking over from his predecessor Baboucarr Sanyang, who is now in jail. The Gamel officials were working with Jammeh, Bazzi, and co to exploit the Gamtel gateway.
“This government is a joke. Former Jammeh enablers are running the system. Mr. Sidebeh, was privy to the illegal call terminations. He is complicit to the scam just like Baboucarr Sanyang. No wonder that is why the same corruption remains unabated at Gamtel. Adama Barrow is a fool. How can you fight corruption, when the very people, who aided and abetted Jammeh to wreck this country economically, are still in the system? It is okay to send Baboucarr Sanyang to jail and yet leave his Deputy Sidebeh? I think Barrow and his team are out to enrich themselves. They have no interested in stopping the rip-off going on at Gamtel at this hour. They have started receiving money from Gamtel,” said our source.
“Gamtel’s gateway has been outsourced to a third-party company. The gateway is being managed by another company. The Barrow government is yet to severe ties with the said company. International callers are being exploited by these corrupt phone carriers. There is no indication to suggest that the Barrow government will stop the exploitation of callers. Fees are being jacked up in the name of enriching carriers at the expense of callers,” said a Gamtel insider.
Attempts to reach the management of Gamtel without success.

NASTY NATTY DREA, BOURNE, JACK THE JACKASS
ANOTHER ARTICLE ABOUT YOUR CORRUPT, INEPT NAD INCOMPETENT ADMINISTRATION.
DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES TO IT. READ ALL.
The buzz around town is a new corruption scandal that has hit the Barrow administration hard. The story is that the Barrow government is very split into factions. On one side, you have Mai Fatty and Barrow who are largely running the government without consulting the cabinet. As you know, Barrow has only had 1 cabinet meeting. As he himself said on the BBC, he has been signing contracts without going to cabinet or seeking advice.
The latest contract that has caused widespread outrage in government circles is the one that Mai Fatty, has negotiated with a company called Semlex. This company is constantly in the news for its nefarious activities in Africa. It used the same tactics in the Congo. According to Reuters: “Last Thursday Brussels prosecutors said they were investigating the deal with Semlex.” . You can read this story at the highly respected US News and World Report: https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2017-04-23/congo-rights-group-urges-attorney-general-to-investigate-costly-passports
According to another Reuters story titled “pricey passport scheme sends millions of dollars offshore” the company ended up fleecing the Congolese people 100s of million of dollars per annum with one of the most expensive passports in the world at $185. You can read this story here: http://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/congo-passports/
Well folks, the same is coming to our dear motherland. Using the same tactics as they did in Congo, Semlex is in town to secretly sign a new contract. This is all being done by Mai Fatty without invoking the Justice Ministry, GPPA, Cabinet, or the National Assembly. Apparently whilst he was in Brussels, they allegedly received a bribe to give the secret contract to a foreign company without following any process.
It is sad for our people that after we deposed the very corrupt and vile Yaya Jammeh, the new government is using the same corrupt tactics as Yaya Jammeh. In fact, some of the people surrounding Barrow are mostly crooks and con artists, who in past have conned people but are now running our country. Mai Fatty for example was famous in Michigan for all the …..he used to run. Now he is Minister of Interior. These people are mostly interested in lining their pockets and not in developing our country.
The National Assembly has to conduct an enquiry into the ties between May Fatty and Semlex, just like they are doing in Belgium where the Belgian prosecutors are investigating the company’s ties to corruption and bribery according to the Reuters story above. The newly elected MPs should not be like before and should stand up and ensure that we kick corruption and corrupt politicians into jail where they belong.

I like this ar
Babu Soli, have you ever been anticipating for silence or lack of criticisms in the Gambia of today, after your boss of a swine took to it’s heels with loots from the resources of a country he already impoverished? Enjoy democracy you senseless beast and stop farting about. Kwame Nkurumah and Jomo Kenyatta were not only educated but had the self-integrities for them to be distinguish from a semi- alphabetised fool like you who always goes tasking himself to course works in order to respond to easy and straight forward comments online, with stupid booga booga. Aren’t you grateful in the first place that all this ‘buzz’ is coming straight from the ground without those sources facing threats of death, murder, incarceration, torture, forced disappearance or sending to exile.
I love to be kept in the light of unfolding events in the Gambia but not simply from a source who goes dressing up his news of accusations with; Mr. Boo can reveal, Mr. Boo can reveal, and fade out in thin air without a follow up, or one that persistently tries to put citizens at loggerheads. The characteristics in the latter seriously violates the ethics of professional journalism. Citizens working or aspiring professional journalism must refrain from the stir-it-up and muddy-it-up styled incitements. Mai Fatty as you said, was famous in Michigan for all the…..he used to run. Whatever your grudge for the gentleman, I personally don’t fit in the council or counsel of baseless haters and gossipers. I might have criticised the man but not based on petty and hateful grievances as such. I have lived almost all my youthful live in the west, here and there, and I have seen the different types of havocs Gambians in the diaspora have wreaked in the lives of others, and their contempt towards each other’s progress and well-being . All these ill-characteristics in some of the people of the country could be seen in the behaviours of your boss(Yayah Jammeh).
Investigating or scrutinising a government is not a curse. The curse of a country is a dictatorship whereby the will of others to investigate and scrutinise the state and state personnels’ activities are approached by bitter intolerance, repression and reprisals by the state, of impunity.
You have proven to be largely fallen short of democratic values during your boss’s despotic regime, for never referring him to Reuters anti-corruption articles of an advanced democracy like that of Belgium’s. Thank God you’re learning fast now to be referring critics of the despotic Jammeh regime to such articlesWhat a daylight shamelessness and hypocrisy.
You are a very backward dumbo who justifies the horrible deeds of a beast and human flesh eater, Yayah Jammeh by ‘comparing’ his awful deeds to that of an advancing democratic process. I believe everyone proven guilty of corruption in this young government in the Gambia will be brought to justice as soon as possible but not before your boss and his hypocritical and ‘paradoxical’ cohorts’ bottoms are glued where they belong. Don’t forget including yourself, now and finally that you concur to the fact that he(Jammeh) ruined the country with his enablers. When that day comes by, don’t make a U-turn to claim you are a minor!.
Bourne
Maximum respect bredda. Some souls are not blessed to understand or get enlightenment . Keep up the good work of dressing down dem fools for all to see.
Babu, Ministers do not have to contact the National Assembly to run their ministries and can you please explain your rationale for “invoking the Justice Ministry” what has Justice ministry has got to do with passports? Interior has their own resident Barrister so that person should be able to write a contract that serves the best interest of the Nation. If they fail to do so then they should be sacked. Babu, the cost of a Gambian passport is already around $100 so even under your favourite Jammeh it was almost as expensive as that of Congo. The blatant corruption with impunity that was happening in Jammeh’s government cannot happen now because Gambians won’t allow it to. Babu that is the difference between Jammeh’s era and Barrow’s. I would suggest that we all wait and see what the deal is and scrutinise it. Am pretty sure the National Assembly will perform their duty to scrutinise government’s actions as expected of them.
NASTY DREADFUL NATTY DREAD,
VIAGRA, OH VIAGRA!
You definitely know what it means , no doubt, the simple mention of it. Your travesti lover who used VIAGRA must have eventually pushed his FAFA hard into your nasty ASSHOLE or PUSSY. You can’t forget that moment Nasty Dreadful Natty, can you?
Pheeew pheeew pheeew! Babu Soli. Half you ever pretended to be preaching from the Holy Quran.
But….But what is this? Olala. This cannot be what we refer to as education. I never know you are this low. C’est pas possible!
I want to write; Have you ever pretended….
Babu Soli
As a show of respect to my dear comrade Dida and Sulayman Ceesay for their advice for me to cease this tit for tat insults, i will just bade you farewell and wish you all the best…. I am better than that.
Natty Dread/ Bourne: “Jali Kunda Sonk Ko” – do you want it in Swahili?
Gee! Dormu Rewwum Gambia aka (Luntango Suun Gan Gi) what a Mandinka too for someone fluent in Swahili.
That is why I, for an example, should be apologetic to many I derogated with misappropriate language and hoping they accept my apologies. Please come on; say this Mandinka phrase in Swahili.
To be candid, I am fed up with all the insolence and explicitness, especially the UN-MISTERLY types. I think the Jollofnews editorial themselves must be trembling to the prevailing illiterate explicitness of this specific forum of outrage.
I want to be giving it a farewell as Natty Dread did or intended to do. Really, my skill in darning is limited male pants.
Rect;….. limited to make pants.
…. limited to male pants.
Excuse me folks for the numerous rectifications or in other words, (corrigendum). I am suffering from dismay…
Jack,
I get jittery at people who ellude the truth, villify the innocent and exonerate the culprits. Haven’t you read what NATTY DREAD wrote about my use of viagra? Come on.
I responded to his/her irresponsibility. PERIOD
