(JollofNews) – Prosecutors in the Gambia have filed criminal charges against a man accused of killing a pet dog for no apparent reason.
Diony Breuker of Berrending village, Kombo South District, West Coast Region, is said to have ‘unlawfully’ killed the dog and buried it inside the property of one Modou Tamba, without his consent.
According to Inspector Ebrima Sarr of the Gambia Police Force, the dog did not attack or posed any threat to Breuker when it was killed on 7th August 2017.
Breuker denied the allegation and was given a D25, 000 bail by Magistrate Omar Jabang of the Brusubi court.
He is the second man to be prosecuted in the Gambia for killing a dog.
