A former speaker of the Gambia’s National Assembly was Friday granted court bail after pleading not guilty to witness tampering.
Fatoumata Jahumpa-Ceesay is accused of interfering with information or witnesses of the country’s Truth, Reconciliation and Reparation Commission (TRRC).
Prosecutors alleged alleged that the former speaker had with intent to obstruct or interfere with the work of the TRRC, called Alagie Kanyi, a potential TRRC witness, through her mobile phone and told him that he should not mind the commission, which act suggests or amounts to interfering with the work of the commission in the discharge of its functions.
She was given a D1 million bail by Magistrate Mendy of the Kanifing Court.

Fatoumata Jahumpa-Ceesay is the second person to be charged with trying to tamper with the work of the TRRC which is looking into the rights abuses of the previous regime of President Yahya Jammeh.
She’s just been punished for the relationship she had had with President Jammeh and the APRC. She hasn’t done or said anything unlawful. A one-man testimony is taken as reliable evidence by the CORRUPT and INCOMPETENT bunch of IDIOTS at the USELESS TRRC to vilify an innocent lady who successfully rose through the ranks and gained an irrefutable respect among our women. She’s being targeted in their NASTY plot to sully her character.
Is the TRRC’s role a court ruling commission, a police department…..? Besides, we are seeing an unnecessary squandering of the taxpayers’ money in emoluments, per diems, miscellaneous payments and all the CORRUPT-covert methods of stealing in a futile ‘project’.

Which of their bootlegger witnesses has categorically mentioned the name of President Jammeh in the ‘atrocities’ they falsely alleged?
As for Barrow, he had asserted himself that the ECOMIG, Paramilitary, the Gambia Armed Forces are his. So, he is directly responsible for their atrocities.
