Lamin N. Dibba: Gambia For All Party Sympathises With Late Minister’s Family

The secretary general and leader of the opposition Gambia For All party (GFA) and the entire membership of his party have sent their heartfelt condolence to the family, relatives and friends of Lamin N. Dibba, former minister of Local Government and Land, whose untimely demise took last Saturday.

Mr Dibba was propaganda secretary of the opposition United Democratic Party (UDP). He was imprisoned in 2016 alongside Ousainou Darboe and others for unlawful assembly by President Yahya Jammeh.

Following Mr Jammeh’s defeat in 2016, Mr Dibba served as minister of Agriculture in President Adama Barrow’s cabinet from 9 July 2018 to 15 March 2019.He previously served as Minister of Lands and Regional Government from 2017 to 2018.

Paying tribute to the late minister, Bakary Bunja Dabo, GFA leader said: Hon. Dibba’s service to this country has been exemplary both as a civil servant and as political leader and his demise is a great loss to the country and its people for whom he was prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice.”

He added: “At a more personal level, Mr. Dibba has enjoyed strong personal relations with many of GFA’s leadership and he will be greatly missed as a friend and a brother.

“Similarly, we extend our sympathy to the Hon Ousainou Darboe and the entire membership of the United Democratic Party for this great loss. We pray that Allah, SWT, grant him Jannatul Firdawsi. Ameen!”
