Gambia Condemns Sudan For Attack On UAE Ambassador’s Residence

The Government of the Republic of The Gambia expresses deep shock and condemnation of the recent attack on the residence of the United Arab Emirates Ambassador in Khartoum, Sudan.

This violent act, deemed cowardly and heinous, is in clear violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees the inviolability of diplomatic premises and properties.

The Gambian government calls on Sudanese authorities to ensure the safety and security of diplomatic missions and urges swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Furthermore, The Gambia appeals to all parties involved in Sudan’s ongoing crisis to exercise restraint and engage in inclusive political dialogue to promote peace, stability, and development in the country.

As the Chair of the 15th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), The Gambia also calls upon OIC Member States to intensify efforts toward the restoration of peace, democracy, and constitutional rule in Sudan.
