The Banjul Magistrates’ Court chaired by Principal Magistrate Muhammed Krubally last Monday issued an order for remand in custody of a Senegalese national at Mile II prison following his admission of guilt on a single-count charge of theft.
Dan Faal, who claimed to have hailed from Yarakh in the Pikine suburb of Dakar, is expected to return to court early next month when the prosecution, led by Superintendent Fatou Faal Kujabi assisted by PC 1720 I. Chorr, is also expected to render to court in reading the facts of the case.
Prosecutors last week charged Dan with theft contrary to section 226 of the Criminal Offences Act.
According to the particulars of the offense, Dan on or about 15 April 2026, stole an iphone; property of one Muhammed Camara of Anglesea Street in Banjul. The phone, marked iPhone 11 Pro Max, was valued at D21,000.
The case resumes on 5 May 2026.
