DLEAG Apprehend Suspected Drug Traffickers And A Boat Operator

Three (3) suspected drug traffickers and a boat operator notorious for conveying prohibited drugs were taken into custody by DLEAG operatives after they were found with huge quantities of suspected cannabis sativa at Jakoi Paima River Crossing Point on the 1 July 2022.

Samba Jallow, a 48 years old Senegalese National was arrested around 04:45 hours GMT onwards with thirty four (34) big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa.

Aljuma Sowe, another Senegalese National was also clutched at Jakoi Paima village around 07:10 hours GMT onwards. He had earlier evaded arrest at the river crossing point but was later apprehended at the village.

20 years old Ebrima Colley who is a Gambian National was arrested at the river crossing point around 05:10 hours GMT onwards with two (2) bags filled with a total of sixty six (66) big bundles of suspected cannabis sativa. His means of conveyance was a plateless blue motorcycle.

Siaka Samateh, a boat operator who was contacted to ferry their illicit product was also taken into custody alongside his boat and two Yamaha boat engines. He is said to be one of the most prominent operator hired by traffickers to transport their illicit products along that route.

They are all currently in custody while operatives further probe into their cases.
