A Maltese-based Gambian identified as a migrant worker has died after being crushed between a cherry picker and the roof of a fuel tank.
Amadou Suwareh 46, was doing maintenance work on the fuel take at the time of the accident at around 12.15pm on Tuesday.
Suwareh, a native of Badibou Kerewan was working near the fuel plant within the Ħas-Saptan valley in Ħal Għaxaq.
According to Maltese police, preliminary investigations have uncovered that Mr Suwareh died while on the cherry picker. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
An inquiry has been opened and a police investigation is underway
