Principal Magistrate Muhammed Krubally on Monday ordered the remand in custody at Mile II of a young man following his admission of guilt for slapping a middle-aged man.
Pa Abdou Ceesay, who looked outwardly remorseful as he appeared to be sobbing while in the dock, admitted culpability for slapping one Samuel at the Bakau garage in Banjul on 11 April 2026, consequently causing him harm in the head.
In handing down his remand order, Principal Magistrate Krubally said he had taken note of the voluntary and judicial confession of the accused, but would in the meantime “want the authorities of the State Central Prison” to keep Ceesay, pending his court reappearance on 30th April for the narration of the facts of the matter by the prosecution.
Superintendent L. Trawally and PC Sikia Sonko are representing the Inspector General of Police in the case.
